Accurate Cutting Services has acquired Birkett Cutmaster, and is merging the operations, after 45 years of part-collaboration and part-competition, to create a bandsaw sawing resource capable of tackling anything from tubes to turbines, it is announced today.
“It’s a perfect fit,” comments Mark Fleeming, chairman of Accurate Cutting Services Ltd. “Accurate Cutting has met lighter sawing needs with Pedrazzoli machines, and large heavy requirements with Soitaab band saws, including multi-axis gantry saws. Now, Birkett Cutmaster brings the capability of the unrivalled Amada quality production bandsaw machines and bandsaw blades to the mix.
“Add to that the subcontract sawing and bandsaw and HSS circular saw blade supply, and blade-sharpening services of Accurate Cutting,” Mr Fleeming continues, “and we are set to become the UK’s number 1 supplier of sawing solutions.”
The combined operations will use the name Accurate Cutting Services Ltd and operate from both locations in the UK. Midlands-based Accurate Cutting Services was established in 1969, just two years later than Birkett Cutmaster in West Yorkshire.
“Birkett Cutmaster’s tooling capability includes the latest bimetal and carbide-tipped band saw blades,” says Bryn Pritchard, formerly managing director at Birkett Cutmaster Ltd. “Amada machines can cut faster, with blades that last longer due to matched performance from a matched machine and blade designed by the same company. We are determined that Accurate Cutting will be unbeatable for customer value and service.”
Mr Pritchard becomes the sales director of Accurate Cutting Services Ltd.
