Accurate Cutting has recently installed a new heavy duty Soitaab gantry saw of up to 2000mm capacity to enable faster customer service. The gantry saw allows jobs to be more accurately positioned on the table, and the saw is moved over the job on linear rails enabling multiple cuts without repositioning.

As well as the standard vertical cuts, the saw can cut horizontally and diagonally at angles between 0 and 90 degrees.

Soitaab manufacture gantry saws of up to 3000mm with up to two sawing heads on one bed to facilitate toping and tailing simultainiously and plate and block saws up to 9000mm run length and in two directions.

The automatic loader is very sturdy and it can bear up to 4 tons. The feeding speed is about 250 m per minute: this implies a great speed of movement; this cutting line can fit blades from a minimum diameter of 140 up to a maximum of 370 mm and the cutting speed can be adjusted in a wide range from 38 to 287 RPM. The automatic bar stop ensures precision also when it is necessary to rapidly change different cutting measures.

The sturdy patented discharge system quietly discharges the part and maintains the correct position of the piece after the cut and so makes it easier to attach this machine to other working units.

The control software, developed by our R&D department, assures great flexibility thanks to the possibility to modify, during the work cycle, the feeding speed, thrust torque and the cutting speed. This sofware helps the operator to choose the kind of blade to use, to optimise cutting length and to regulate cutting speed. The MCL 120 is a real work station that can be attached to Pedrazzoli’s optional units: deburring machines, collection units for cut part stacking and washing system to clean metal pieces.

• All main machine components are in cast iron: monolithic bow, bow support with hinge pin, centring ring, reducer box, vice base and vice carriage.
• Bow rotation for angled cuts from 0 to 60° left with pre-set stops at 45° & 60°,graduated ruler, mechanical stops and lever for intermediate position.
• Steel resting base with groove for band. Base turns together with bow so it can support parts even when making angled cuts.
• Deep angled opening on vice base to improve swarf discharge.
• 2-speed three-phase motor (0.75-1.1 kW) - transmission carried out by means of screw/ring reducer with 1:40 ratio for cutting speeds 29-58 m/min - (The SINGLE-PHASE version features only 1 speed with 2.2 Kw).
• Bow angle, blade length and fly-wheel diameter have been calculated to limit band yield and increase its life span.
• Spring-driven Mechanical blade-tightening device to ensure stretching is uniform and constant.
• 19mm band supported by two bladeguides with hard metal plaques, adjustable according to dimensions of part to be cut.
• Electropump for cooling of band with lubrication oil.
• Adjustable mechanical vice unit with handwheel for gradual approach and lever for rapid clamping.
• Accident preventing safety devices: flywheel guards which stop motor when opened, blade protection guards, blade start with “man-present” protection against accidental start-up, low voltage controls, key operated main switch.
