Of late, however, the trend is toward using Cermet Tipped Saw blades in order to achieve higher cutting rates, longer tool life, and better cut quality as compared to the conventional carbide tipped blades. Cermet material is manufactured through the same basic process as tungsten carbide, but the solid material is composed of titanium nitride (TiN) and titanium carbide (TiC) and offers continuous wear resistance compared with a Tin coated carbide tip.
